DWIGHT F. DIMMERLING 1934-2009
CALDWELL -- Dwight F. Dimmerling, 74, of Caldwell died Monday (Jan. 26, 2009) at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell.
He was born Aug. 20, 1934, near Fulda, son of the late Edgar and Lucy B. Thompson Dimmerling.
Mr. Dimmerling was a graduate of Dexter City High School and a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Germany.
He was a retired surveyor and supervisor for Peter Kiewit Sons Inc. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Junior F. Dimmerling, in 1999; and an infant brother, Norman Dimmerling.
Surviving are four sisters, Rosemary Tennent of Zanesville, Dolares (Jim) Steed of Sarahsville, Phyllis (Max) Phillis of McConnellsville and Annalee (Jerry) Reed of McConnellsville; a sister-in-law, Mildred Dimmerling of Caldwell; a stepson, Brian; two stepdaughters, Lynn and Susan; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, in Caldwell, where a Christian Scripture service will be 8 p.m.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Fr. Wayne Morris as celebrant.
Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Caldwell.
Military honors will be provided by Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
